Welcome to The Barn at Martin Farms
We are on 85 acres of the beautiful Martin farming and ranching land which adds to the rustic, but elegant setting of The Barn. Our 3000 sq.ft. Barn is fully enclosed, climate controlled with A/C & Heating, and consists of a combination of corrugated metal, reclaimed cedar, pine, and cyprus interior walls, and 12 center posts which are ‘lighter’ trees harvested from surrounding forests. This farm structure was built by the old fashioned means of ‘a barn raising,’ only made possible through the help of friends. So there are many personal touches!
We have a Charming Chandelier and loads of Up-lighting in The Barn, rustic décor, table and chair settings to comfortably seat 175 guests, and a dance floor. All under roof and including plenty of areas for your catering, drink station/bar area, DJ/Entertainment etc. Men’s and Women’s restrooms and dressing rooms are located inside the barn venue also.
The Ceremony Site is located just a walk away from The Barn Venue. It is elegantly nestled between the Barn and a prairie pond. The Ceremony Site includes a beautiful natural tree line as the backdrop, wooden bench seating, a wooden arch with a platform and wooden cross. Just a short walk from the Ceremony Site are designated areas under additional up-lighting outside of the Barn Venue for a “Cocktail Hour,” for a fire in our stone firepit with its bench seating, for pictures by either our picture pump waterfall or at the rustic cabin. The Barn at Martin Farms has an unlimited supply of photoshoot backdrops for those most memorable pictures.
Distressed copper pails and pump-handle faucets add a distinct ‘country’ appeal. Guests may enter “The BARN” through large double barn doors situated at the front and rear of the building. Seating accommodations within “The BARN” range from 150 to 200 guests, depending on the choice of tables and set up. Parking is plentiful with the Ceremony Site visible when guests arrive. The Ceremony Site is located in the hayfield, approximately 200 feet south of “The BARN.” The wedding ‘altar’ is decorated with a wooden cross, an arch made from trees, branches, and grapevines, a ‘backdrop’ of a 10-acre pond, the remaining 85 acres of pasture land, and occasionally, cows passing by. The entire BARN site is surrounded by nature, including the Ocala National Forest to the north.
"MARTIN FARMS" in East Marion County, Florida, opened its gates for the hosting of weddings, celebrations, meetings, parties, and photoshoots that desire a natural Florida appeal. We feel we offer a TOTALLY UNIQUE VENUE for those TOTALLY UNIQUE OCCASIONS. **MARTIN FARMS" is part of a five-generation working farm legacy that involves cattle and crops as well as land management. Cows roam from green pastures to cypress heads to cow pens, of which all are a part of the rustic scenery surrounding "The BARN"... Every location on the 2-mile radius of “The BARN” has its own appeal, and its own history, including the habitation of the Acuera Indian Tribe dating back to the 1500s. Every square foot of land carries a historical significance. For photoshoots, no two backdrops are the same.
We offer several Special Event Packages of which we feel will fill the needs of most gatherings, and we are always open for discussion regarding the desires of our Guests. By choosing “The BARN” at MARTIN FARMS for your special celebrations, gatherings, and photoshoots, you are not only capturing YOUR moment in time, but you are also capturing a piece of history.
The owners and staff of The Barn at Martin Farms hold deeply the safety and welfare of our guests, clients, potential clients, friends, family, and staff members at this time of uncertainty in our nation. Though we are open for events and appointments for tours, we are sensitive to the desires of our visitors as to this issue. We have masks, gloves, sanitizers, and lots of room for social distancing at the requests of our visitors and clients. ~Our prayers are daily for GOD to contain this entity, bring us all together as a nation as we have never been before, and 'heal our land!' Blessings & Peace to All...
